Virtual Artisan Village

Alcalá del Júcar (Albacete)
At Easter: from 2 till 5 April
Medieval Market
The medieval market at Easter has established itself as a traditional event known throughout the region for its authentic crafts. For the eleventh time we will set up our original arts and crafts stalls on the esplanade of this stunningly beautiful village.
The troubadours, the juggler with her characters and story telling, the dancing bear, soap bubble shows and a great fire show at night guarantee a lively and authentic medieval atmosphere.
We open on Thursday at 5 pm; the other days we open from 11 am till 2 pm and from 5 till 10 pm, although on Sunday we close earlier.
Here below we give you the complete programme and the photos on this page are from last year's market.
The market is sponsored by the local Town Hall and the tourism organization of the La Manchuela region. After all, Alcalá del Júcar and its surroundings are a magnificent destination for one- or multi-day trips, even without the medieval market, as they are only a 2-hour drive from Alicante.
Alcalá itself is a white village built against a hill and crowned with a castle. In the narrow streets, you can visit various cave dwellings; there is a freshwater beach, a Roman bridge, waterfalls, and you can go canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and horseback riding. In the immediate vicinity, countless picturesque hamlets lie along the banks of the River Júcar.
